Gongs

There are many different kinds of gongs but they have similar effects on the body. All create multi-tonal vibrations that wash over the body. Originally used across Asia in ritual and ceremony they have become a popular tool in Sound Baths. Smaller gongs can be handheld and walked around with, above 22 inches they will need a stand.

This flat shape is known for allowing the gong’s voice to fully open with a wide tonal spectrum and a long sustain. Lower tones are more dominant when played softly, but with more powerful playing the gong opens up nicely and produces wave-like overtones.
