Kalimbas

Kalimbas (or thumb pianos) are derived from a traditional African instrument.

They are small portable instruments with a solid body - usually wooden. They can have holes in the body for extra resonance. Played by pressing metal tines (or keys), better quality Kalimbas have adjustable tines to change the tuning.  They are delightful instruments that are easy to play and a lovely personal meditation tool, for use in sound therapy with adults and children or in Sound Baths.

Meinl Sonic Energy - Wah-Wah Kaliba

$215.00

Comes with tuner, soft case and hard case.

The Meinl Sonic Energy Wah-Wah Kalimba is a great-sounding melodic instrument with unique characteristics, not only in sound but also in the design. All 17 notes on the scale of C Major complement each other, and that means you can’t play a bum note -even with your eyes closed.

This Kalimba has a body-oriented sound-hole so you can create a wah-wah effect while playing by simply bouncing the Kalimba body on and off your belly which creatively moves the sound.

17 Notes, C Major
